Fundraising etc:
Helen of Lasertech gave some more details on the ink/toner cartridge recycling scheme. A number of members with shops/Public offices have agreed to take recycling boxes. Lasertech will make a donation to WIBC for every recyclable cartridge collected and will insure that non-recycalble materials are disposed of correctly. Female Focus and Bay Radio are backing the scheme. Collection points listed on the website.

Valerie of Effnics Jewellery is a member of the WIBC treasurer team. She is also handling the suggestions/complaints messages sent to the WIBC. She now has all Mary's handover information.
Anyone who has WIBC pins should let Val know how many they've got.
  • The fundraiser in Albir raised 850 Euros.
  • The fundraiser in Javea raised 1533 including a single donation of 100
  • Louise raised 200
  • The WIBC bank account now stands at more than 7500 Euros so donation decisions need to be taken soon.

The idea of a fundraising auction to be held at Sara's in September was raised. The group was reminded that last year too much of this work fell on Sara herself. Auctions lots need to be ready on time.

Liz of Virgin jewellery and Seraph Sailing told us about an impromptu fundraiser and raffle they'd arranged in Denia that had raised more than 200 Euros for WIBC charities and suggested that the Waterfront might want to do another event.
