MEETING MINUTES

Fundraising etc:
Helen of Lasertech gave
some more details on the ink/toner cartridge recycling scheme. A number
of members with shops/Public offices have agreed to take recycling
boxes. Lasertech will make a donation to WIBC for every recyclable
cartridge collected and will insure that non-recycalble materials are
disposed of correctly. Female Focus and Bay Radio are backing the
scheme. Collection points listed on the website.
Valerie of Effnics
Jewellery is a member of the WIBC treasurer team. She is also handling
the suggestions/complaints messages sent to the WIBC. She now has all
Mary's handover information.
Anyone who has WIBC pins
should let Val know how many they've got.
The idea of a fundraising
auction to be held at Sara's in September was raised. The group was
reminded that last year too much of this work fell on Sara herself.
Auctions lots need to be ready on time.
Liz of Virgin jewellery
and Seraph Sailing told us about an impromptu fundraiser and raffle
they'd arranged in Denia that had raised more than 200 Euros for WIBC
charities and suggested that the Waterfront might want to do another
event.
Discussion of AGM
To give members time to
attend a longer than normal meeting it was agreed that the format would
be a Sunday brunch to be held at a venue between Javea and Calpe.

July 16th - 11am - sharp! Thanks to member Carole Saunder, we now have a
grand salon-style brunch buffet being prepared for our AGM at the new -

Other WIBC business and
introductions:
Karla handles the WIBC
website and is currently looking for new people to help sell/distribute
Flax Seed (dietary supplement) in the area.
Bobby, who is working with
a firm of lawyers in Moraira, in her role as WIBC's VIP liaison
officer visited a conference on the theme of domestic violence in Madrid
last month at the invitation of the British Ambassador's wife. More
details from the event to follow.
Carol from Calpe who is
WIBC's contact with the EMAUS group, told us about their women' s
shelter. The shelter needs more toys/activities for the kids as well as
a number of other basics like a fridge, furniture for the breakfast room
etc. More details of their needs and a report on the women's shelter to
follow.
Diane who does
translations has joined the WIBC treasury team.
