1st WIBC Health & Beauty Extravaganza November 17th - 2006 Teulada - Restaurante Pedramala II Events
Co-ordinator Report Our
1st Health & Beauty event was a very successful day all
round. We were lucky enough to be given the Pedramala II facilities free of
charge and we were able to adapt them to our full advantage. The Health
& Beauty committee, Mary Lucas, Lizzie Clayton, Janet Brownrigg, Candy
Wright and myself set out with the aim of creating two separate ambiances
which we are pleased to say worked very well. The
first was a tranquil setting for visitors to meet first hand beauty and
health experts, gain their knowledge and experience their work. The rooms
were quiet with appropriate lighting and lovely essences burning all day to
achieve the right ambience. Both Janet who ran the health treatment room and
Lizzie who ran the beauty treatment room reported a beautiful feel to the
day and some very satisfied visitors. Not only could they see & buy
products and talk to the businesses first hand but experience mini
treatments from massages and facials to nail painting and also attend
informative educational talks. The businesses who were working downstairs
certainly reported a successful day and I feel sure have gained many new
clients for the future. Upstairs
had the familiar buzz we have come to expect and enjoy from our fantastic
WIBC businesswomen at these exhibitions. The tombola team, Elaine Barclay,
Clare Corper and Mary Murphy did a sterling job of organising and selling
tickets on the day. We had opted for a tombola over a raffle to ensure that
visitors who bought tickets would not be interrupted later if they were
having a relaxing treatment to check raffle tickets and we think this worked
well. The
stands were professional looking and gave pleasure to the visitors, many of
whom came away with bags full of purchases as well as meeting these ladies
first hand. Face to face contact forges a good relationship with new clients
and a lot of business was not only completed on the day but has been
cemented for the future. The
stage ran smoothly and was fun right from the start. The day began with the
beautiful array of Indian and Chinese fashions from the Om Collection &
JLR Jackets thanks to Savita, Reeta & Jacqui. Visitors watched and
participated in many of the exercise and dance demonstrations from Tai Chi
and yoga to salsa and flamenco. The young models that showed us some of the
Ann Summers collection were brave and kept the male fraternity on the edge
of their seats! Elisa Mayerhofer entertained the lunchtime and evening
diners with her great singing voice as always. Many
thanks go to Wolfgang, Tomas, Susanna, Michaela and indeed all the staff at
Pedramala II who worked hard all day serving drinks and fantastic food to
visitors and exhibitors alike always with a smile. They were very polite and
helpful. Also thanks must go to the volunteers on the day Sue Coley, Terry
Alty, Amy Brownrigg, Julie Cawthorne and Roslyn McFadden, all of whom made
it a smooth running and successful day. Many exhibitors and visitors have
already approached us to find out when the 2nd WIBC Health &
Beauty Extravaganza will be taking place! A very special thanks goes to SR Print who printed our posters and flyers quickly, efficiently and professionally. Katie also gave us a discount price to ensure more funds could be passed onto the victims of domestic violence and in the process signed up as a new member herself - welcome aboard.
