International Women's Day 2006
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
by Karla Darocas

Greatness,

When one thinks about the word "greatness", it is a "marvel" to "believe" that it can be "achieved".

And yet, I am continually "amazed" at the "progress" of this club of women - wibc.

You stepped up to the challenge - once again - to host International Women's Day!!!

It was simply wonderful to see the "co-operation" - working together with such passion and womanhood.

Re: International Women's Day 2006
At the opening ceremonies, Beverly Stewart, a big hearted woman from the community, summed it up when she spoke about the importance of making 'her-story"  - not "history".

"Her-Story" - It just goes to show, what a little love, respect and solidarity - can do.

Thank you to the members who launched into this event - in order to make a difference. By sharing our brilliance, and shinning a little light on the world, the knowledge-level went up a whole "notch".

RE: Memberships
This event brought in another 40 interesting members. Over half were from the Altea and Albir area. Welcome.

RE: Media
The local media got behind us again on this event. It was nice to meet all of the journalists, reporters and photographers.
RE: Community Outreach
It was interesting to see who showed up from our local and regional political networks.
However, I see that our pin campaign reached out to the community... in a big way. So - that kind of balances that out.

What more can I say?

Thank You for being you!
Karla Darocas... your friendly, sometimes, network director :)
