WOMEN IN BUSINESS CLUB

W.I.B.C. highlights International Women’s Day in true holistic, cultural, educational and dynamic fashion. It was indeed fair trade at its entrepreneurial best down at the spectacular Melia Villa Gadea Resort Altea on Sunday 5th March. “Esta Muy Bien”

The ambiance on arrival was one of tranquility and a welcoming reception at the WIBC stand. No entrance charge being a bonus to all who attended the spectacular event, a small donation to the worthy cause was much appreciated. Continuing downstairs it was pleasant to find the main salon packed with enthusiastic people awaiting the opening ceremony… Some were seated patiently at the front of the stage, while others strolled around in and out of the various connecting exhibition rooms.

What makes the WIBC unique is their approach in promoting their lifestyles and businesses to the good of humankind, (women and children in particular) and the environment while highlighting the negativity and stigma that surrounds domestic violence, at venues that emanate style, elegance and character. International Women’s Day is highlighted by women’s groups around the WORLD. It is simply celebrating women’s role in society, equality and in their transformation over the centuries. The objective of this colourful day of the celebration of the senses and reflection is aimed at raising funds to help support two regional women's safe homes, and 9 regional children's shelter.  Domestic violence is a global issue and not totally confined to this wonderful country of Spain. Women and children are vulnerable in today’s materialistic, fast world. The WIBC is a free networking service and support circle for women who mean Business……..

The grand opening was swiftly followed by confidence boosting tips and motivational encouragement. (Which we all need from time to time).

Then we listened to the wonderful voice of Michele Avard, from the association of sound; therapy singer/songwriter with a true gift for captivating audience…..

She made wonderful vibrations celebrating the sound of women.

Tricia enlightened all the enthusiastic spectators on the benefits of Reiki. This is simply Universal Energy that surrounds all living things. At 12.oo an exciting property auction took place, with lots of exciting bargains. One town house in the local area was auctioned for as little as E.48,000 by Villa Angels.

A blissful Fashion Show was next on the agenda by Sheer Bliss. Meditative dance of Tai Chi, by Jean Booth proved to be very relaxing after all the hyper action …on stage.

The entertainment continued throughout the day with more colourful fashion, singing, dancing and lots more demonstrations, fun raffles etc...

A large variety of stands were displayed in the main salon where people sampled, purchased at ease, or just strolled around soaking up the atmosphere.

Among the exhibitors I spoke with at the event was Lyn Smith of Colour Works, with twenty years experience in the field of colour co-ordination, skin tone , healing properties to enhance etc; Miriam also had a ‘colour me beautiful’ stand with the full spectrum of colours and healing on all levels.

A name that caught my eye was Seockou Healing by Vera, who studied Tera Mai “Reiki” and Seichem Energy Healing under the guidance of Kathleen Milner. A well known author and healer. Seoukou Healing has Egyptian roots.

Sam Mayfield from the “Orange House” adventure holidays demonstrated a holistic approach to lifestyles and promoted various healing circles offered by Melitta for like minded people to encourage enlightenment and support.

Paradise Music promoted a very interesting collection of wonderful healing, soothing and inspirational material.

Virgin Vie Cosmetics and Crystal Jewellery owned by Sir Richard Branson and run by Lizzie and friends, displayed an array of products fit for royalty. This is an exciting new venture to Spain with great business potential.

It was possible to buy anything at the International Women’s Day Fair, from a Spanish language course by Pilar, to planning your dream wedding, sexy knickers and more….

This annual event has great potential for the future with so much good will and energy generated on the day. It would be great to link up with other countries, via internet, radio or even T.V. perhaps; and send a true Holistic message to the World.

The spectacular day also lends itself to a large group gathering to round off the day sending Light and Love to all women and much needed healing to our endangered planet. Food for thought for the next International Women’s Day 2007… the day was “Muy Bien..”

Until next time. Adios Amigos
