Greetings Ladies,

Myself - Karla Darocas, (WIBC Director) and Patricia Howell (WIBC Member) were featured guests on JAZZ  FM 101.4 .

In a one hour interview, hosted by programme director Juan Puchol Fabregues,  we were able to express the aims and goals of the Women in Business Club. We also talked about the next fundraiser at the Parador in Javea. We also discussed about the workshops and educational agenda planned for the Casa Mesquida in Javea Port.

Our host was very sympathetic towards our concerns for helping women. He was very impressed by our campaign to utilize the media to raise the levels of awareness about domestic violence. He agreed that by speaking out about domestic violence and making some "noise"  - women don't need to suffer in silence. The support network is a courage builder for women in distress.

We also chatted about how the club helps all of us women to build new business relationships and friendships.

Juan told us how he is personally very concerned with building bridges towards integration between the different nationalities on the coast. He was very pleased to find out that us women - no matter what background, were networking to bring about solutions.

Patricia was a very intelligent and passionate speaker, and while my Spanish was slow and broken, I tried to express our collective accomplishments over the past year. However, it was Patricia that became my voice - as if reading my mind, to carry the conversation.

All in all - it was a very good interview.

Thank you to Carolyn Slingsby for setting it up.
