DIWALI - INDIAN NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

November 1st might be the day of the dead for the Spanish, but for the Indian culture - it is Happy New Year. A celebration of light is the theme for the annual Diwali festival, and the WIBC ladies were invited to take part.

Congratulation to SAVITA and to Reeta Jackson - and all the ladies of WIBC Calpe who organized this social. It was a unique experience that really let the ladies shine. The women who wore the traditional garments and make-up looked fantastic. There was a surreal buzz to the event from the front door to the dance floor.

However, as women will be wild, the social turned up the volume when WIBC member - Elisa Mayerhofer... took the microphone and sang out the soulful and rocking anthem "I WILL SURVIVE". This was followed by two local police crashing the party and telling us to, "Turn it down". We were all very surprised to get a noise complaint - especially in Spain!
