The President of U3A, Rosy Evans,  on 11^th June, kindly donated E132 to W.I.B.C  on behalf of the local area group.

 

The money was raised from a short story competition that was held, and booklets sold, which raised some funds to go to a ‘charitable cause’ of choice.   Fortunately we were chosen to be the recipients.

 

Rosy is aware of our fundraising in support of victims of domestic violence, and I gave her an update of our plans to start a ‘Helpline’ in English, as soon as is practicable, given the need for appropriate training initially and ongoing financial and practical support.

 

Karla and I thanked Rosy formally in writing and personally, on behalf on W.I.B.C, our letter of thanks can be seen on the U3A website.

 

We wish U3A well, and hope to have more contact with them in the future.
